Friday June 18th • Fish for Dinner • 7-10PM

Avedano’s Holly Park Market will be hosting The Ethical Butcher for an event that highlights an often overlooked issue. At the rate we’re going, scientists say we may overfish our ocean’s bounty within the next 30-40 years. With that in mind, enjoy a 5-course dinner where the menu is built uses strictly fish recommended by MBA’s Seafood Watch. The sturgeon is an especially interesting dish, as it was developed based on a recipe that is nearly 400 years old!!

Sat-Sun June 19-20 • North Beach Festival • 10 AM

One of the country’s original outdoor festivals, the North Beach Festival is back with over 125 arts and crafts booths, 20 gourmet food booths, Italian street painting, live entertainment, beverage gardens and more!

Saturday June 19th • Hike Through Olive Orchards • 10-12PM

McEvoy Ranch is offering their second annual Father’s Day Weekend Hike at the stunning 550-acre olive ranch, located in the Marin County hills west of Petaluma. Guests will embark on a challenging hike through the olive orchards up to a picturesque ridge with panoramic views, and then return to the milling room to learn about how McEvoy Ranch makes olive oil, followed with a rustic post-hike snack, with views of the olive groves. Advance reservations are required.

Saturday June 19th • Indian Street Food • 12-3PM

Anjan Mitra and Marcia Gagliardi are hosting this daytime event at Dosa on Fillmore, and will feature a crazy-delicious array of classic street food dishes: pani puri, pav bhaji, vada pav, bhel puri, dahi papadi chaat, lamb frankies (or with paneer for the vegetarians), an array of kebabs, and lamb baida roti. Nine courses in all, and it’s all gonna be so good. And very vegetarian friendly. We’ll also have some chai and sweets at the end. Advance reservations are required.

Sunday June 20th • Urban Eats County Fair • 12-3PM

The old-fashioned county fair gets a uniquely San Francisco spin! The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market folks at CUESA have partnered with the SF Giants to introduce city dwellers to the wonders of urban farming and homesteading at the first-ever Urban Eats: A Celebration of Homemade and Homegrown Foods. This free, all-ages event brings urban home food crafts into one big tent with contests, exhibits, activities, and live demos.
